Review on: Dusty – Twelve Inch Jams 003 (Jazz & Milk)
Sometimes life can be so easy and reviews just don’t need too many words: the new Dusty record, No. 003 of the Twelve Inch Jams series on his own Jazz & Milk imprint, is just two cuts, classic House tunes with all the well-tested ingredients: the groove, the samples, the bongos, the harmonies. No avant-garde concept, no trying to reinvent music, just pumping beats for the floor. While “Don’t You Worry” delivers highly infectious percussive rhythms and swelling synth chords groovy as hell, “Brick” may be the hit on this release: it starts with a rich mid tempo groove and driving vocal samples, then Dusty adds some Acid for good measure and in the end you have some kind of disconized monster shuffle, as juicy as irresistible, deep bass line included. Naturally. So it’s two freaking good tracks released without much fuss, just as it used to be back in the golden days of releasing tracks without much fuss. Amazing stuff for your party, that’s the way the label wants it to be and that’s the way it is. Enough said.
