Review On: Saint Paul – Introspection EP (Moonrise Hill Material)
Moonrise Hill Material is a French house music label with a devotion to disco, funk and hip hop  crafted sounds founded in 2015 out of Lyon by Folamour, Ethyéne, Kaffe Crème and Saint Paul. The last one of the just mentioned producer cycle is also the one responsible for the label’s 7th issue that is after its vinyl treatment about to also catch up for digital heads. Called “Introspection EP” the 1st solo release of Saint Paul delivers a five track selection of touching house tunes with lots of emotional vintage heat. Strongly rooted in 80’s disco and boogie but also equipped by older jazz and funk sounds his productions go between catchy floor teaser with lots of disco soul and jazz-funkin’ late-night flow works. Highly emotional disco vocal hooks with a tendency to cause harmonical uplifts join in next to waving rhodes chords beneath bittersweet winds melodies and easy 70's afro funk grooves in here. With it's straight and floor-friendly grooves and warming harmonies the "Introspection EP" will surely make some people open up to its sounds and is defo worth to check for the house heads out there. Nice works! Written by Jan (WPP) You can buy "Saint Paul - Introspection EP" HERE from whatpeopleplay
