Perfectly keeping the balance between more dark and abstract efforts and beautifully sweet bell melodies. And with the title track featuring Kelela on vocals Kingdom has an potential underground pop hit on hand. IMSL8 - Seapoint - Lunar Eve - Infinite Machine - 27-05-2013 Nimble-footed sunny neo garage vibes on this one. May the summer come. TEALLP001D - Beastie Respond - Fictitious Nostalgia - Teal Recordings - 27-05-2013 Ambitious but succeeding longplayer of beautiful downbeat boogie abstractions in a wonky style. Beautiful music. BE002 - Pedestrian - Hoyle Road Remixes - Born Electric - 27-05-2013 One for the Sampha and SBTRKT fans. Benjamin Damage and Doc Daneeka keep it surprisingly low key on their nevertheless swinging remix, as does Falty DL with his subtle house variations. Lastly, the tech steppin‘ drum‘n‘bass remix by SpectraSpoul is a little bit redundant, but, alas, why not. GF006 - Die & Jenna G - 1000 Soul Songs - Gutterfunk - 27-05-2013 Up to date soul/drum‘n‘bass crossover by Die and Jenna G. Skip right to the epic Addison Groove remix for some taste of futuristic UK juke. Fantastic. VR003 - Nativ - Bandulu EP - Vex Records - 27-05-2013 Peak time dancefloor destroyers in a uk funky fashion using a deeply distorted bass as trademark sound. Pretty good, actually. L2S095 - Shagos - Set Me Free - L2s Recordings - 27-05-2013 Like Artful Dodger featuring Craig David reborn. Neo 2step vibes, keeping it true to the originators. ADM062 - Xandek - Big Chords - AudiominimA Records - 31-05-2013 Strong deep house vibes on this one, with some dubby flavors, turning into a seminal bass music anthem halfway through. LM015 - Jacques Greene - On Your Side - LuckyMe Records - 04-06-2013 Jaques Greene teams up with How To Dress Well on this teaser for the first one‘s coming album. And the silky vocals of the latter form a perfect combination with Greene‘s swinging neo house beats. Hit. The two bonus tracks keep the tension. Recommended. CONVEXLP003 - Femme En Fourrure - 36-26-36 - Convex Industries - 03-06-2013 Deep and sexy bass, house and electro crossover tracks. Mysteriously warm nighttime tracks dominated by the softly whispered female vocals. And as a bonus we get two more dancefloor oriented remixes by Audionite and South London Ordnance. A definite winner for Jon Convex‘ ConvexIndustries imprint. DKY010 - LiL TExAS - Talkin 2 U - donky pitch - 03-06-2013 Wonky beat excursions by LiL TExAS resulting in six as dreamy as futuristic cyber boogie anthems. Another winner for the Donky Pitch label. LTECH004 - Powell - Fizz - Liberation Technologies - 03-06-2013 Deeply experimental and advanced techno abstractions by Powell, riding on a very industrial wave soundwise while still maintaining an engaging inherent groove. DRUT002 - Kelpe - Fourth: The Golden Eagle - DRUT - 03-06-2013 More summerly scifi folk excursions by Kelpe. Top modern downbeat psychedelia for the cyberpunk generation. 50WEAPONSRMX03 - Benjamin Damage - Delirium Tremens (Robert Hood & benjamin Damage Remixes) - 50 Weapons - 07-06-2013 Damage‘s long version of his own Delirium Tremens is exactly that, a four minute longer extended version for your next Dj toilet break. But in the end it‘s all about the Robert Hood remix, transforming the track into a true detroit techno anthem in finest minimal fashion. LOB008D - Mak & Pasteman - Dither - Lobster Boy - 10-06-2013 Another winning duo by Mak & Pasteman. Two classy bass music tracks in their typical style, minimal but hypnotic. Putting the bass back into your ass and your ass back on the dancefloor. PIPS022 - Appleblim - Fluorescent - Apple Pips - 10-06-2013 Absolutely fantastic bass house tracks by Apple Pips mastermind Appleblim. Swinging grooves dominated by warm chords on the a-side, deep halfstep reverberations with a subtle electro feel on the flip. Highly recommended.
